From the middle of 2019, through most of the shutdowns, and perhaps even as late as 2022, the Holy Spirit was repeatedly saying to anyone who had ears to hear, It’s a new day!
When does a new day start? The western mind immediately congers up images of a sunrise and a new day dawning. However, let’s ask this question: At what time of day does the day / date change?
For the Jews, their day ends at dusk and the new day begins – the evening and the morning. That’s even how it is logged in Genesis chapter 1 …the evening and the morning were the first day (vs 5); …the evening and the morning were the second day (vs 8), and so on (verses 13, 19, 23 and 31). Coming in for the evening starts their new day, looking toward a good night’s rest.
Even on the Roman calendar, when does the new day begin? At midnight! The new day begins at the darkest hour of the night. Think about that for a moment in light of the opening statement of this letter. It can now be understood that when the Lord said it was a new day, He was indicating that some of our darkest hours were just ahead of us.
Now we’ve entered into a phase where we are hearing, Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you (Isaiah 60:1). A new day has dawned. It is now time to awaken, arise and step into the fullness of a new day. As a matter of fact, we published a blog in March of 2020 entitled, Awaken to a New Day, that might as well have been written today. It’s a great overview of the past 4 years. For reference, it’s linked here for you.
2023 proved to be an interesting year. We returned to three international destinations: Taiwan in March, Uganda in June and Greece in September. We also returned to Faith Bible Church in Prague, Oklahoma to participate in their 3rd annual End of Summer Prayer Conference and wrapped up the year with our 5th annual Year-End Prayer Conference in Terre Haute, Indiana. Throughout the entire year, the Prayer School, soon to begin it’s 9th year, concentrated on leadership development. I would be remiss if we did not mention all the precious local churches and pastors we were privileged to serve.
At the end of 2014, when the Lord re-activated us into our call to the nations, He said: “I am about to send you to the many nations of the earth. You will return and report all that you have seen and heard. Heal the sick! Raise the dead!!!” And to the nations we have gone. To whom do we report? Anyone who will listen, but primarily, it is to the people of prayer to whom we give an account for the purposes thereof. Real change in the nations comes first and foremost from within the realms of prayer. Now that the Lord has brought us all into a new day, we are hopeful with it we will now begin to see a broader fulfillment of the rest of that call—healing the sick, raising the dead. Let’s go! Hallelujah!
Doors continue to open across the globe, some of which carry an urgency (specifically Taiwan). Yet, we cannot go without the support of those who send us. We love and appreciate each and every one of you, thanking God for you daily, making mention of you in our prayers.
As change continues to manifest throughout the church world, itinerant ministry has taken on some interesting challenges. We earnestly covet your prayers and, should the Lord speak to your heart, we sincerely ask for your financial support. Uganda, Taiwan, Greece, Ireland, & many more are calling.
